Richard Calado breaks club high jump record again

On Sunday 13^th April, Richard Calado won the under 17 men’s high jump at the Tipton Games with another new personal best of 1.98m. This ranks him third in the UK (for U17 men) and sets a new club record. In the six months Richard has been at Worcester, he has increased his PB from 1.75m to 1.98m, which is a massive improvement. To jump over 2.00m is a major milestone and the highest jump in the UK by any under 17 man in the past three years is 2.05m. Go for it Richard!

Club record for 16-year-old Richard Calado

Richard Calado not only became Midland Indoor High Jump Champion for under-17 men on 9th February at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, but also broke the club’s long-standing senior men’s high jump record with a fantastic leap of 1.92m. In doing this, Richard also achieved the milestone of jumping over his own height of 1.84m. Since joining Worcester AC in November, Richard has increased his personal best from 1.75m to 1.92m, which currently ranks him 6th in the UK in his age group.

The results of the Gloucestershire Cross Country at Blackbridge are now online, please go to 'Results'. Furthermore the entry forms for the Malvern Half Marathon and Worcester Pitchcroft 10K can be found in 'Fixtures'.
